The Center for Innovative and Promising Practices (CIPP) is an applied research center of the Orelena Hawks Puckett Institute.
The major aims of CIPP initiatives and activities are the development and use of innovative and promising family support, early intervention, childhood education,
and related practices for promoting and enhancing child, parent, and family competence.
CIPP staff develop and implement promising practices that are guided by theory, research, and practice in a number of fields of inquiry. Center staff are also exploring the adoption and use of asset-based, capacity-building, and promotional approaches to facilitating child, parent, and family learning and development. They are also examining the manner in which use of these approaches is related to positive outcomes and consequences.
The Center provides a forum for CIPP staff to employ alternative paradigms and models that promote the adoption of innovative ways to strengthen child, parent, and family functioning.
